EARLY CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER

Christmas came early! This year, I had the chance to savour turkey a month before Christmas, thanks to Sanook’s invitation to sample their Christmas eve dinner menu. I have been to Sanook several times now and I have always admired the calm and peaceful surrounding of the restaurant that faces a lake. It definitely gives me a break from the hustle and bustle of the chaotic city traffic – almost like a place out of town, when in fact, it’s located in the heart of PJ. Thankfully, on that night, it had just stopped raining, so the air was still cool and crisp with a light breeze. Just perfect.

Fun At Sanook Kelana Jaya

Sanook is located at Plaza Kelana Jaya. A beautifully decorated restaurant by the lake. The environment is always calming and soothing over there, that I never really wish to leave each and every time I was there. If I would to choose the best place to chill or the most romantic place to be in this Christmas, I would definitely suggest this place to everyone.

Love the lake view, you can choose to dine at Alfresco@Sanook which is located on the ground floor, facing the lake. Or you can opt to dine-in in Arriba@Sanook where music is played all night long.

We were greeted friendly by the godfather who is the owner, the friendly people pleaser, chief people pleaser, chief food artist.... ooohhh, they are actually the people running Sanook, the executives, chefs, waiters... how lovely are their titles!

The restaurant has been there for about 2 years back with a large range of choices of food where you can find from east to west. Sanook is a Thai name with the meaning “fun”, is a guiding principle of Thai social life. The Godfather, owner of the restaurant who is warm and friendly owner introduced his staff to us. The positions are really intresting with the name people pleaser instead of waiter and chief food artist instead of chef. The Godfather had named the name as this is to have more FUN in the work environment and no barrier among the staff.The restaurant is accomadating nearly everyone from drinkers which can enjoy around the bar or pools upstairs as well as a romatic view of the lakes for lovers...........

Dining alfresco with a gentle lake breeze

......Located by the lake side, the environment of the pub restaurant was comfortable and I was able to lay back dining alfresco as I twirled the fork and spun the red wine glass.

Neither the music volume from nearby pubs nor the big 9' x 12' screen showing live football matches managed to interrupt the conversations I had with my companions. Sanook was simply a great place to kick back and relax.....

......As the evening grows, it gets cooler and I find myself relaxing and enjoying the sound of laughter and camaraderie. Then, the fountains in the lake come on. This is a plus point about dining at Sanook Dine Lounge Club. The others, of course, are the food and the giant TV screen where the English Premier League action is getting heated up. “You should hear us on football nights,” says restaurateur CF Yow happily as shouts of “Goal! Goal!” come from a group of guys bonding over beer and ball.....

Dining at Sanook, Kelana Jaya.

...We started with some delicious appetizers in which we ordered bruschetta and fried chicken wings. The bruschetta that was served is just simply wonderful, its served on sliced french bread which is crunchy and the ingredients included fresh dice prawns that actually melted in our mouth. Yummy, the tomato scent was so pungent you feel like gobbling it all at once.....
